Statement from Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford on Easter

“Happy Easter! Christians all over the globe will gather today to celebrate one of the oldest and holiest days on the Christian calendar.

“Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion. After being crucified on Good Friday, Jesus Christ was taken from the cross and buried in a cave. Three days later, on the following Sunday, Jesus was resurrected; signifying God’s redemption of humanity and the triumph of life over death.

“Easter represents hope for all people, a metaphor for renewal and rebirth, resurrection from the dead, and good overcoming evil. It serves as an opportunity, for people all over the globe, to reflect on the significant contributions of the Christian community.

“In commemoration of Easter, and the rich and diverse cultural impact that the Christian community has on this province; I wish all of those celebrating, a blessed Triduum and happy Easter!”
