Statement from Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford on Nowruz
“Today, people in Canada and around the world will gather to celebrate Nowruz, also known as the Persian New Year.
“Nowruz, meaning ‘new day,’ is celebrated around the world by people of all faiths that trace their history back to the ancient Persian Empire. It is an important holiday, marking the first day of spring and the beginning of a New Year, on the Persian calendar.
“Nowruz is a time of great joy and serves as an opportunity to visit friends and family, to exchange gifts, and share special foods.
“On behalf of the Ontario PC Party, I want to thank all Ontarians of Persian descent for their enormous contribution to building the successful, prosperous, and democratic society that is Canada.
