Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Genocide Remembrance, Condemnation and Prevention Month
The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Genocide Remembrance, Condemnation and Prevention Month:
“Last year, the Canadian House of Commons passed Brad Butt’s private member’s motion designating April as Genocide Remembrance, Condemnation and Prevention Month.
Many of the survivors and families of victims found refuge in Ontario in the aftermath of these events. These communities have worked tirelessly to preserve the truth of what happened, and to share it with the world.
As Leader of the Ontario PC Party, I stand with the victims of mass atrocities and urge Ontarians to learn more about these dark moments in world history.
It is important that we remember that millions of people were murdered and we must collectively work together to prevent grave mass atrocities from taking place in the future.”
