Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Italian Heritage Month
In June, we celebrate Italian Heritage Month. We remember the hard work and sacrifices of past generations of Italian immigrants who journeyed to Canada in search of a better life for themselves and their children.
Since the 19th century, Canadians of Italian heritage have contributed to the growth and prosperity of Ontario. Today, there are close to 900,000 Canadians of Italian descent living in our province, forming one of the most vibrant and active communities.
I am proud that members of the community are known for their work ethic, personal responsibility and support for family, in addition to being the most passionate soccer fans! The month of June is a time for a big and loud celebrazione, celebrating the great traditions and contributions of the Italian community in Ontario.
Happy Italian Heritage Month!
