Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Nowruz
“On March 20th, Iranians, Afghans and other Central Asian communities will begin celebrating Nowruz. This ancient holiday celebrates the Persian New Year and the arrival of spring and with it the spirit of renewal and growth.
“Many of you will be gathering with family and friends around the Haft-Seen table to enjoy a traditional feast featuring dishes symbolizing the welcoming of a new season.
“While in the presence of your loved-ones, take this time to reflect on all the blessings and relationships that you have in your life.
“This is also an opportunity for the people of Ontario to learn about this ancient festival and recognize the outstanding contributions that Canadians of Persian and Central Asian heritage have made to our incredible province.
“As Leader of the PC Party of Ontario, I would like to wish all those celebrating Nowruz a successful New Year filled with happiness and prosperity.
