Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism
“Today we mourn the loss of our fellow Canadians and all victims of despicable terrorist attacks.
“Thirty two years ago, 329 innocent lives were lost when a bomb exploded onboard Air India Flight 182. More recently, we have witnessed numerous attacks, both abroad and here in our own country.
“We should never give refuge to those who take up terrorism and kill our fellow citizens. They must be held to account, no matter how long it takes.
“We must fight the ideologies that fuel radicalization and provide our security services, the Canadian Armed Forces and other agencies with the tools and resources they need to keep our country safe.
“We shall continue to stand united in unequivocally condemning terrorist groups and those who violently oppose our way of life and our values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
