Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the nomination of Derek Parks in Thunder Bay-Superior North

“I congratulate Derek on his nomination as the Ontario PC candidate in Thunder Bay-Superior North.

“Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Derek is a long-time Northern Ontario activist and champion. Derek has extensive experience working in both the environmental and mining sectors, including within the Ring of Fire. He will be a strong champion for getting this once in a lifetime economic opportunity moving.

“Derek is also an active member of the Ontario Mining Association’s Environmental Committee, and has served as a chapter president for Trout Unlimited.

“After 14 years in power, life is harder under the Wynne Liberals. Northerners are working harder, paying more, and getting less.

“The Wynne Liberals have treated Northern Ontario as a ‘no man’s land.’ It’s time for a change. Only the Ontario PC Party will put Northern Ontario first, and make sure hardworking families pay less and get ahead.
