Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the retirement of MPP Julia Munro

“On behalf of the Ontario PC Party and Caucus, I would like to thank Julia Munro for her years of service to her constituents, the Ontario PC Party, and the province of Ontario.

“As Ontario’s longest-serving female MPP, Julia has served the York-Simcoe community with passion since first being elected in 1995.

“As an MPP, Julia has served in an impressive number of positions that reflect her intelligence and resolve, both in government and opposition. Most recently, she served as Critic for the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan, where she succeeded in getting the government to step away from their job-killing payroll tax.

“I will always remember Julia as one of the most compassionate people I have had the pleasure of working with. She is a superb role model for girls and young women all throughout the province.

“I look forward to continue working with Julia for the remainder of this term, and will miss her advice and experience around the Caucus table. We wish her all the very best in her retirement.”
