The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown marking Italian Liberation Day:
“This day marks the fall of Benito Mussolini and the end of Nazi occupation in Italy.
It is celebrated as a national day in Italy where it is known as the Festa della Liberazione. It is also marked by many here in Ontario’s nearly 1 million strong Italian community.
I express my best wishes to all Italians as they celebrate the anniversary of Italy’s return to the family of Western democratic nations.”
