Todd McCarthy Nominated as 2022 Ontario PC Party Candidate for Durham


DURHAM – The Ontario PC Party is pleased to announce that Todd McCarthy has been
nominated as our candidate for the riding of Durham for the 2022 provincial election.


Todd is a well-respected and established lawyer in Durham and across Ontario. Todd is the
senior partner at Flaherty McCarthy LLP, and also served part-time as a Deputy Judge
presiding over Small Claims Court cases at the Durham Region Courthouse, and was President
of the Durham Region Law Association. He also served as a Trustee and Vice Chair of the
Durham Catholic District School Board.


“I am incredibly honoured to join Doug Ford and the entire PC team who are working hard to
protect our progress and will build the best Ontario for our families and future generations,” said Todd McCarthy.


In his spare time, Todd coached and sponsored minor hockey teams and taught as an Adjunct
Professor at both Queen’s University Faculty of Law and the Durham College Faculty of Justice
and Emergency Services. He is also a founding donor and supporter of the Durham Abilities
Centre.


“We are proud to have Todd join our PC team ahead of the next election,” said Brian Patterson,
President of the Ontario PC Party. “He will make a great MPP and be a strong voice for Durham
at Queen’s Park.”


Todd is recognized for his achievements and was presented the Ontario Bar Association
Insurance Law Award in 2021 and was the defence counsel Honouree of the Ontario Trial
Lawyers Association annual celebration of the Personal Injury Bar in 2019.
