Wynne Liberals announce date of next broken promise budget

Statement from Ontario PC Finance Critic Lisa MacLeod:

“Today, the Wynne Liberals announced the date for their final, last-ditch ploy to win the next election: Budget 2018.

“Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals are untrustworthy, especially when it comes to our finances. For 15 years, they’ve put insiders and their political self-interests first, while making life unaffordable for Ontario families. Hydro bills have skyrocketed, taxes and fees have ballooned, and our debt is the largest of any province or state in the world.

“Now, after promising a ‘balanced budget’ for years to come, the Wynne Liberals are already changing their tune and plunging the province back into deficit. They can’t be trusted to keep their word.

“This is a government that has no real beliefs other than their own political self-interest. Now, right before an election, they’re cynical and willing to do or say anything to cling to power. Anything they promise in this budget is nothing more than a costly re-election ploy they have no intention of keeping.”
