Wynne Liberals must stop cuts to autism services
Toronto, ON – Today, Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown and Deputy Leader and Ontario PC Critic for Children & Youth Services Sylvia Jones called on the Wynne Liberals to reverse cuts to Yes I Can Nursery School, a specialized school that serves preschool age children with autism. Brown and Jones were joined by Yes I Can Nursery School executive director Janet MacDougall, Liberal Senator Jim Munson and other stakeholders urging the Liberal Government to ensure the continued operations of the school.
Yes I Can Nursery School, a not-for-profit registered charity, provides specialized programs to over 100 young children with autism and children with special needs annually. The province cut the school’s $150,000 annual funding this year and has requested a transition plan from the school.
