Laurie Scott is the MPP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock and has been elected to represent the riding five times since 2003. Laurie and her family have been a part of the community for many generations.
Laurie has served as both Minister of Infrastructure and Minister of Labour. During this time, Laurie was able to make important changes to help the people of Ontario. For fifteen years, Laurie has been an advocate for issues facing rural Ontario including bringing equitable access to high-speed internet to every community by 2025. During her time as Minister of Labour, she passed legislation to protect rural fire halls and promote public safety in small communities by ending the unfair persecution of double hatters and made key labour reforms that have spurred job creation across the province.
Laurie has also been a tireless advocate for victims of human sex trafficking both inside and outside of the Legislature.
